The Undersecretariat for Fisheries, on behalf of the Government of Chile, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations are organizing the Sub-Committee on Aquaculture 4th Session.
The meeting will be held on October 6 through 10, 2008, in Puerto Varas, Chile. This website offers a series of hotel as well as tourist alternatives, not only of the region, but of the whole country.
The Sub-Committee on Aquaculture was established by the Committee on Fisheries (COFI) at its Twenty-fourth Session in 2001, in accordance with Rule XXX-10 of the General Rules of the Organization and Rule VII of the COFI Rules of Procedure. It is constituted by all Member Nations of the Organization. However, non-Member States that are members of the United Nations, or any of its Specialized Agencies or the International Atomic Energy Agency, may be admitted as observers by the Council of the Organization to membership in the Sub-Committee.
Thus, in October, countries from all over the world will gather for discussing and closely collaborating, to create a more appropriate framework for sustainable development of aquaculture. During the days the Meeting will last, representatives of all Member Nations of FAO will deal with a series of subjects related to the development and impact of aquaculture in the world. |
